Tibbitts Family Florida Home

We Bought a Home in Florida!

On December 21st, 2022, Ray and I signed the papers and obtained the key to our new home in Land O Lakes, Florida.  Our wonderful realtor found us this home a few months prior, and we instantly fell in love with it and the location.  The previous owner explained that she could wait until our finances were in order to purchase the home from her (she was her own realtor).  Knowing that she may change her mind if she received a good offer on the home from another buyer before we could submit our offer, we didn't stop looking for other potential homes to buy in the area.  Well as luck would have it, she didn't accept any other offers, so when we were ready to submit our offer, she accepted it.  We are so grateful everything worked out, so we could have this home.

When we left San Diego, we had our belongings in two PODS, that were kept in San Diego until we were ready to have them shipped and delivered to our new home address. It was a Christmas miracle that our PODS arrived at our home the day we moved into the house.  The PODS company had a huge problem with my profile and the PODS were in San Diego until just a couple days before we moved into our home.  I was stressing out big time.  Thankfully Ray was able to send an email to the president of the PODS company, which is here in Tampa, a few days before we were to move into our new home, and the vice president of customer service contacted me.  After hearing my sob story, she promised the PODS would arrive on time at our home, and they did.  Ray had placed an Air Tag in each of the PODS when we packed our stuff in San Diego.  It was such a relief to see those two PODS travel quickly across the United States.

One of the things we love about the neighborhood we live in now are all the parks and playgrounds.  We have three parks within walking distance from our house.  Hope's favorite thing is to go the a park to play. The community next to our's has lots of walking and bike trails, which we use often.

Hope climbed up the mattress all by herself, while I was in the other room unpacking.  Little stinker!

Oh how Hope was happy to unpack her trampoline and start jumping.
Time to hang some family pictures.

This is a picture of our side yard.  We have big plans for this space.

The view from our front yard.  Land O Lakes got its name from all the lakes and ponds in the area.  We have a little pond right in front of our home.  So far, we have seen fish and turtles in the pond, but no alligators. Photo credit: Hope Tibbitts
